Who has been approved for their State ADAP program? Did you have any issues during the enrollment process? If so, what were those issues?
State ADAP program: Who has been... - Living Well with HIV
State ADAP program
Hi Robby,
I live in Leesburg FL which is in Lake County. When I was first diagnosed back in May 2016, I was living in Orange County and I was referred to the local health department because I din't have any insurance. I completed the ADAP application and I've had no issues getting my meds since. I get all of my meds from the State at no charge.
I live in michigan, my social worker did everything for me, all i had to do is give proof of my income, i do have insurance and they pay my co-pay as a secondary. Easy and no problem here in michigan.
I've been on ADAP shortly after I was diagnosed. It's been a couple of years now. It's been pretty smooth since then. I've had to submit ID, proof of residence, income, proof of diagnosis, and insurance. Recently had an issue since my state changed ADAP providers, so I had to pay my co-pay for a couple of months. Make sure to keep in contact with your local Department of Health worker.
I moved to NYC from Dominican Republic in August 2016 and have been in ADAP Plus since September 2016 and so far I haven't have any problems. My social worker did everything for me.
I provided proof of residency, income and that was all, she did the rest.
They, ADAP, also pay for my medical insurance so ADAP is now my secondary since February 2017. I get my meds every month without a problem.
I was diagnosed November 24, 2014
I've been on adap+ for almost 2 years now, no issues
I have been approved for my states ADAP program for a few years now. It's usually something that I have to re enroll for every 6 months. It seems like a lot of paper work to get in only because I'm not always the best at keeping organized. its definitely worth it though. and as long as I maintain adherence to my regiment ADAP will continue its coverage. the cost savings is definitely a lifesaver.
