Does anyone else get acute muscular pain, like cramp but worse, when their muscles are very tired? I guess this is just part of cp?

Yes I do! Especially when I've been unwell and really tired. Baclofen can help or heat pads I tend to go for the boots ones.

Cool thanks - will get some heat pads. Don't know much about baclofen?

Baclofen is a medicine which can help stop muscle spasm and reduce high tone that's associated with some types cerebral palsy. Speak to your GP or ask to be referred to neurology but I take it and movement is easier and I'm less achy. They started me on a small dose and then built it up over time. see : nhs.uk/medicine-guides/page....

same here!! That awful feeling that's like someone's wired your muscles up to a car battery...

I also use baclofen, it is fantastic I find in relieving that tightness and achy feeling. Since I started taking it I feel alot more comfortable and movement is easier, it takes the edge off.

Soaking in a steaming hot bath has also helped.

I don't know about baclofen, but everyone on here seems very positive about it. Might try and find out. Thanks.

I do.

It began in earnest around 40 (just now) and happens regardless of work or stretching, about the same time of night. It's psychologically hard, because, when a new thing happens, I never know if I need to go to the doctor or not, and I'm seeing a new doctor who I don't dislike but don't yet know well. Unfortunately, this change in providers coincided with new concerns (like the cramps) I don't want to just dump on her. Fortunately, shes been taking me seriously in a respectful way. She's referred me to a new neurologist and they keep not calling me back to set an appointment. (I told her they hadn't called me and she got angry and called them from her office, at which time they told her they'd supposedly called my home and left a message. (No.) I've called them myself and they still haven't returned my calls. Meanwhile my gp and therapist are wondering what the holdup is and somehow I feel like, after all, maybe I'm making a lot of guff out of nothing and shopping for heating pads instead of calling them everyday when I should probably be doing that. -_-)

You may have vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Most people don't get enough magnesium in general. Magnesium Gluconate is better absorbed, than Carbonate or Citrate. Start with a low dose to avoid loose stools. You should notice a difference within a couple weeks.

Vitamin D is also another common deficiency, your physician can order a lab test to test all of your levels. Medications, illness, aging, stress, etc. can easily throw your level's off. Low Potassium also causes muscle cramps, twitching, fatigue, the list goes on.

Good luck!🙂
