Nearly every chemical that enters our bodies, either orally, or through the skin, end up going through the liver at some point. Alcohol in all it's forms is toxic for the liver. Paracetamol in large doses can also cause damage. However, the liver is a very resilient and forgiving organ.

You'll be fine.

Hi

I’m just really concerned wether I did something really bad, I took 3 pills that day, each one of them was flu med that contains 250 mg of paracetamol, took 1 in the morning, 1 afternoon, 3 hours later went with some friends, drank wine probably 2 glasses of 10.5% alcohol in it, and two hours later took the third pill, and I’m seriously so scared right now

Hello again. As l've said, you'll be fine. There are two things to try and understand here.

Firstly l see from your profile that you are 17-years old. Many people don't realise that it takes a liver 21 years to fully grow. When we are in our late teens we think we are invincible and do crazy stuff, getting drunk and experimenting with drugs. We don't worry about our health as it's only old people who get sick. Livers are put at risk even when they are still growing.

Someone once explained about the liver, and how it can regenerate and repair itself....

If you were to cut or prick the back of your hand until it bleed then it will heal. Do it 30 times and it will still heal but the skin will start to scar. If you prick that hand say 10,000 times, then that hand isn't going to make it. The liver is a bit like that.

So a little damage is normal, as the liver is removing dangerous chemicals from or bodies all the time. It's very forgiving and will fully recover. Don't worry. All is well.

Well said Katie . There is no need to bully people, when they are just in need of some help and support.

I left a previous site because of this type of behaviour. We all need a little help and understand from time to time in our lives. Not to be ridiculed and belittled.
