Rare Disease Strategy launched last week!

The first UK Rare Disease Strategy was released by Lord Howe on Friday. The strategy will aim to improve support and treatment for millions of patients affected with rare conditions in the UK and build on research into rare illnesses.

It includes:

• a clear personal care plan for every patient

• support for specialised clinical centres

• better education and training for health and social care professionals
