The emotional impact of a leukaemia diagnosis can be just as debilitating as the physical effects, sometimes more so. Diagnosis does not only affect the emotional health of diagnosed patients but also affects the psychological health of their families and caregivers. Common feelings during this life-changing experience include anxiety, distress, a sense of loss and depression. This webinar will discuss what you may be experiencing and explore your questions such as:

• What can my family and I do to help manage the emotional challenges we are experiencing?

• What clinical care and support is available to us?

• Are there tips and coping strategies that may help us through the shock of diagnosis and support us in the future too?

Panel:

Sophie Wheldon - Patient Advocate.

Samantha Slaney - Patient Advocate.

Kirsty Crozier, Haematology Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Jasmine Hebden specialist cancer counsellor and CNS, Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Remember , there is no right or wrong way to deal with this. We are all different and will react to news like this in our own way too.

So sorry I won’t be able to make this. Last slash at work - 🤣. This should be a great session. So much to say. So many different points of view to consider. Hope it goes well
