LDN on NHS or Via GP Private Prescription.

I started on LDN back in December 2022 for Fibro. I started very low and slow as I'm medication sensitive. I've just about reached 3ml of liquid LDN. I think its had a beneficial effect but I also started Venlfaxine in January for migraine prevention as I was diagnosed with vestibular migraines last year that affect my balance and cause dizziness and vertigo.

I would very much like to continue on LDN but am rather shocked at the prices private prescribers charge. I'm charged £65 for 1mg/90ml which was ok when I was on 0.5ml but now I'm on 3ml its only lasting a month.

As I've tried all the usual Fibro meds over the years and failed with all of them, I'm wondering if my GP might be receptive to prescribing it and just wondered if any members had had any luck with getting it on the NHS or if it would be cheaper to get a private prescription from my GP. Or if there are cheaper suppliers in the UK?

Hi, that sounds quite expensive Sparklingsunshine.

I've been taking 4.5ml of ldn as pain relief for about four years.

I couldn't persuade my gp to prescribe on the nhs so I have a private prescription from Dicksons Chemist in Glasgow (I live in Wales)

I believe they provide tablets, capsules and sublingual drops, the drops are the most expensive and I pay approx. £28/month.

4.5ml is 9 drops which I worked up to slowly and chose these as the best options for allergies and ibs.

I've found Dicksons to be very helpful and reliable.

dicksonchemist.co.uk/new/, hope this helps you x

I use this too from the same place in Glasgow for similar prices.
