Has anyone else been advised to boil all drinking water?
Boiling water?: Has anyone else been advised to... - HIV Partners
Boiling water?
Only when I was first diagnosed and my CD4 count was 62. Boil all water and wash all fruit n veg in it. But not since then
Yea I think my consultant is over cautious, she advised of booking all water to kill cryptosporidium but it seems no one else is told to do this- am I wasting my time?
You usually boil drinking water when your cd4 count is below 300
Not since my cd4 count was really low.
Wonder why she advises to boil?? I guess it does no harm...!?
Never heard of it
Oh my....😂 Boiling water? Really? She's playing with you, surely? I was just talking to my old consultant - now a good friend and source of my up to date guidance - laughed.
Change your Doctor if you can...
Do you think?? It kind of makes sense to me tbh....I kind of think that a good dose of sickness and diarrhoea wouldn't be good for my adherence so would sooner err on the side of caution, but I'm just interested to know that no other consultant seems to recommend the same, interesting
Paul, well said. Isnt that just unnecessary pressure to place on someone? We all know we live with a compromised immune system and try to remain clean and avoid germs etc but isnt this just a reminder every time you use 'water' that it could make you sick and that you have HIV. Not great for a consultant - to add additional concerns me thinks 🤧😷🤒
Change your Dr, Quickly..
But the meds will give you a upset belly for a lot longer than expected . Keep a health diet to help.
That's a new one! I've been on Triumeq for about 2 years now. No painful balls ever but the occasional bout of nausea and diarrhoea, which is easily controlled. My CD4 is 800+ So I'm healthy. Boil water? No way, I'm too busy enjoying life!
No need to boil water or avoid runny eggs. I've no idea why your doctor has suggested that.
Do you go to a doc in Lincoln? Don't think it would be the same as mine if you do, as she has never recommended any of that - even when first diagnosed.
