Interferon vs viral drugs - side effects/ experiences/impact on every day life

Hi all

My consultant asked me to choose if I wish to start injections (interferons) or tablets (viral drugs). Information online is overwhelming. I would like to hear some real life experiences and how you coped with the side-effects/ changes you had to make to your life-style etc.

Thank you

My condition is complicated by also being HIV + , so I'm on a combination of drugs .

When diagnosed my HepB viral count was off the scale , once on treatment the HIV was undetectable within 12 weeks . I'm not sure when the HepB became undetectable as the HIV diagnosis took priority at the time , but I have been HepB undetectable now for eight years .

Initially I did have problems with side affects of the drugs , but that was sorted and as far as I know the drugs I'm on now cause no problems what so ever .
