The 3 men who working together in the 1980s were able to isolate the hidden virus that has infected and killed so many worldwide. I don't have the names handy but the 2 Brits and 1 American in the late 80s found the NonA-NonB virus and gave it the name Hepatitis C Virus. From their discovery an identifying test was developed and all blood products began testing to ensure a safe use of donated blood worldwide. Without that discovery there wouldn't be these Direct Acting Antiviral treatment medications that now cure in as little as 8 weeks.
