HCV is known as the deadliest infectious disease, even more dangerous than HIV. It is also the most frequent disease in U.S. prisons. Despite the disease finally being curable, inmates from the state of Colorado have said that “Death is cheaper than the cure. They do, on occasion, help the younger inmates, but us older guys are just left to die.”
