Hi David,

The usual protocol is to have hospital blood tests done

Viral load test, fibroscan to test for liver scarring

Ultra sound to check out your livers' general condition

Gives a broader picture,

Also your consultant will test for your genotype which will help determine the best course of action for you, which meds. etc.

All good wishes for a complete cure and recovery.

Dear David,

The next step is to find a really good doctor who knows about Hep C. I can imagine that right now you are afraid and feel helpless. It is understandable, yet know that there are lot's of new treatments coming to help those of us who are suffering and living with the effects of Hep C.

I don't know how you are feeling these days. Yet, some of the symptoms are very hard to deal with, fatigue, Joint pain and what we like to call "Brain fog" or mental confusion seem to come with this virus.

What is important, is to find out what geno-type you have and then what treatment might be best for you. I've been living with Hep C a long time now and have also found help in using alternative therapies and supplements. Milk thistle can help a great deal in detoxifying the liver.

Please feel free to correspond with me if you choose, I live in Duncan B.C. Canada. If you have any questions feel free to message me, I also live with complex-P.T.S.D. and have hemocromatosis too.

I hope that this message help in some way and just know that I'm here for you should you like to message me.

Peace and light, David :-)

A set of liver function tests will note if the virus is having any effect, an ultra sound scan will measure any past activity. Avoid alcohol, fried foods and paracetamol. When you know more let us know. The virus is managed by a liver friendly lifestyle or if active can be removed with todays medications

David,

We wish you the best of luck to get your treatment subsidized or completely paid by your insurance, medicaid or medicare. Please don't let those folks bully you around. You can get treatment no matter what. Get it taken care of ASAP.

If for some reason you're not able to get treatment, our non profit, SoulofHealing.org, 501(c)(3) will get you treatment guaranteed. Before you go through our patient assistance program, please find out exactly what treatment you need, e.g. Harvoni, Sovaldi, Daklinza or Epclusa. Then you can email me, Melissa McKnight at hcvmeds@gmail.com or call our hotline 24/7 at 1-858-952-1077.

You're going to get through this. In the mean time avoid alcohol and all fatty foods. Try to eat more vegetables and fruits. Drink lots of water and try to get a good walk in once a day for 30 minutes. All this will really help.

David,

We get a lot of inquiries from the UK, where people are not able to get the treatment because of Gilead is bankrupting many nationalized healthcare systems.

If you're getting the treatment, that's great. Cheers.
