Hi ladies, just wondering if your arrhythmias are worse when it comes to that time of the month? It's always been a a 'trigger' for me and have recently been put back 6 tablets a day but it doesn't touch the arrhythmia at all when the time occurs....

Question for the ladies
Hi, I'm trying to monitor the effects of my monthly cycle on my SVT but my prolonged episode happened in November so haven't had much chance to see if there is a pattern developing. I have a feeling the hormonal changes do have an effect as my attack happened just after my period. Have you found any evidence to suggest there is a link? Nic x
Hi Nic, I've got no evidence to see if it's linked. That's why I thought I'd ask the question to everyone else. As mine is always horrednous when I'm on and nothing seems to help x
Hi, I have been having symptoms of svt for many years now but still not diagnosed as not been able to catch it on an ecg which is really annoying as it scares me so much and really want treatment, I'm on beta blockers which help a lot but still want an ablation. I have only just realised that when I'm due on my period, I can get bad palpitations. I'm not sure how or if it's linked but I defo get them bad before I come on.
My cardiologist said hormones can be a trigger for SVT, especially if you are perimenopausal (which I am). I don't have any research at the moment to back this up, just what she told me.
I'm new here as had my first episode of SVT last week (lights and sirens, woo hoo). My older sister (51), however, has had SVT since a teen and had an ablation about 10 years ago. She is now experiencing arrhythmia again, and believes that it could be down to being perimenopausal. I don't know if she experienced any hormone/cycle correlation previously.
