Is anyone else being forced to pay for Rivaoxaban because their GP will not prescribe it despite it being passed by NICE??

I dont understand why a gp is making a cardiology decision?

gps are no more than the medical equivalent of boy scouts/girl guide first-aiders when it comes to cardiology.

The consultant prescribed them but the local Patient Care Trust will not sanction the Rivaoxaban so I have to pay privately. They say warfarin or nothing....
