hi I’m over 70. Had scan on ear a few days ago.

Anybody else had this I don’t know the outcome of it yet but it does worry me a little bit.

Never had one of these - what kind of scan was it? E.g. MRI, CT, CAT ? Was it to diagnose a particular problem? Have you had a straight forward hearing test too or do you already wear hearing aids? Sorry lots of questions😅

hearing. I do apologise for delayed reply. To cut a long story short I have been visiting the ENT for the last few years because of a small problem with my ear

I have never worn hearing aids but the last 12 months my hearing has decreased and the consultant found in my ear fungus and an infection which has affecting my ear and hearing not painfulThough.

Scan is very similar to an MRI but only on the ear part and took possibly all of 5 to 10 minutes. I am awaiting the result of the scan.

Hope the results show something that can be helped orange33. My hearing loss has also resulted in a loss of balance in my ears and I had an MRI of my head - although nothing can be done about the vestibular and hearing loss at least the MRI showed that the problem is in my ears rather than my brain which was reassuring (I was imagining all sorts of horrible things😅)

hello, what kind of scan was it? MRI scan? Or a camera device?

I had my ear wax removed a couple of days ago and the nurse found a fibre stand in my ear. It’s taught and held in place where skin has grown over the bottom part of fibre. They’ve never seen this before so… the nurse in question is sending a picture of it to an ENT specialist to consult with. That had me worried a bit. My family have been reassuring me about my situation.

Did the hospital say how long it will be for your results to come through? It’s horrible having to for results an anything . If there’s someone you can talk to to, it helps a lot. Distract yourself with things to do to help the days go quicker. You should know soon. Hope it’s not terrible news.

hello

yes I’ve had two scans now on my right ear. this last scan was an MRI scan because they consultant wanted to see what was causing my deafness in my right ear. There is something in my ear that should not be there. I am now awaiting results of this scan.

I do have other medical issues that may have caused this. I have never worn hearing aids in my life so I’m thinking age probably has something to do with it as well.

hope everything goes well for you with your appointment at the ENT clinic I have been very impressed with how quickly they have dealt with my problem.
