Hello to my new community! I'm a 61-year-old female with Primary Progressive MS. I was diagnosed very late, age 57. Life as I knew it is over. With that said I have a question I don't think (neither does my neuro) is related to my disease.
I am going to dive right in with a question regarding hearing. "Auditory Hallucination" I believe is the correct term. From my at home research these hallucinations typically involve voices, (in the mental health way) however mine do not. I hear music, especially "big band" music. I researched further and hit on a site that described perfectly what I hear. It's called MES - Musical Ear Syndrome. Mainly, it's due to hearing loss, especially in the elderly. It does not bother me and it's only at night, typically when sleeping on my side. I have to chuckle about this syndrome because, in my opinion, hearing big band or marching band music is funny! It's somewhat a relief to find a name for this and know it's not disease related. Anyone else?
