Hi

I was knocked off my bicycle around three weeks ago. Despite wearing a helmet I hit my head at the top left forehead and suffered a concussion/ brain injury. I have a number of symptoms such as:

-head pulsing

-head feeling full/ under pressure

-head feeling dented,

-head feeling as if it is on a spring

-slow to process info

-cloudy thinking

-diminished concentration/ comprehension when reading/ listening

-muddling up first letters of words

-unsteady walking, and

-clumsiness.

I would be grateful for any assistance and advice, especially on identifying and accessing appropriate rehab.

Thank you for your time and trouble.

Have you had a scan / been seen by a doctor ?

You would normally be referred by your GP or consultant neurologist. There isn't really any other way to access such services.

Hi there

Getting a scan done is a good idea. I had most of your symptoms and the way it was explained to me was that your brain is trying to heal and so can’t perform the normal cognitive functions rather has no energy to do so. It will get better with time. Make sure you’re eating well, sleeping lots and drinking water. But do make sure you keep going back to your doctor to make sure that they haven’t overlooked anything. Good luck
