I see that you joined the forum today but all you've written is retired?! Perhaps a little more about whether you or someone close to you has a bi would be helpful then I'm sure you'll get some helpful responses.

I had a subdural Haematoma op 3 months ago. The need for this may have been caused by a car accident 2 and half months before. This is being looked into by our insurance company and I am waiting to see an independent Neurologist. I am an active campaigner on issues such as poverty and climate change. My husband still runs a publishing company so we remain fairly busy though retired. Yesterday I went to an Oxfam conference - there were several speakers and I did have a thumping headache at the end! I have been trying to manage with only taking pain killers at night but I think I need to take some during the day as well! I do find going for a walk helps to clear my head especially if away from traffic. Thanks very much for getting in touch. Hazel

Hi Hazel

Thank you for sharing a bit more information with me. It is good to hear from you again. You have clearly been through a very frightening and difficult time with the subdural haematoma and subsequent op. It will have been a very worrying time for your husband too. Am pleased to hear that you have managed to return to your campaign activities. We very much need people like you persuing these issues. As you only had your op 3 months ago I am not surprised that you still need to take painkillers. It is not unusual with any brain surgery or brain event to need to take them and for some it is an ongoing medication because the bad or excruciating headaches are ongoing. Why don't you copy what you have written as a response to me and paste it into a new post so that others on this forum read it because they probably won't realize you have felt able to tell us more about what happened to you. There are other on here who have had similar and can share with you there recovery so that you are more reassured that the headaches are to be expected certainly for a while. Although anyone on here will be able to respond because any brain event however it has been caused will have some similar issues. I no longer get the bad headaches but amongst other things like you I continue to be very noise sensitive!!

Best wishes
