Hi. This is my first experience of a forum! I suffered brain trauma about 3 months. I have numbness on my right jaw

It's like having been at the dentist for a filling. Has anyone else experienced this?

If you're only 3 months on from your injury then it could simply be post-op niggles.......maybe nerve damage which hasn't yet settled. Were you visited by a specialist nurse whilst in hospital or given a leaflet listing people to contact for advice after discharge ?

I had a couple of issues a few months after coming home and they were answered quickly by the specialist nurse over the phone.

Are you due for a check-up appointment quite soon ? If not you could phone and ask to speak to your consultant's secretary to see if there is a sooner appointment available.

Alternatively your GP might have some ideas.

Good luck celtictrev & please stay in touch.

Do you have any other weakness on your right hand side? My trauma was 3 years ago and i still sometimes have weakness on one side including my jaw. It is much better than 3 months after and i am probably just very aware of it now. Damage to the left side of your brain can cause this kind of reduced sensation on the right
