cervix cysts
Hi there, Thank you for your message.
Hopefully others on here who have had a cervical cyst(s) will be able to share their experiences and reassure you, but just from our perspective - cervical cysts are fairly common and aren't linked to cervical cancer, so having a cervical cyst(s) doesn't mean you a) have cervical cancer or b) are more likely to develop cervical cancer in the future.
Our free nurse service, Ask Eve, can be contacted on nurse@eveappeal.org.uk if you have any other cervix-related questions.
Best Wishes,
Ask Eve
thanks for reply my ultrasound didn’t pick them up luckily i paid for a mri they picked them up can they cause discomfort do they dissolve at all mri says multiple nabothan cysts no sizes
Hi there, Nabothian cysts are a common type of cervical cyst, and aren't harmful. Treatment isn't normally required for them, but sometimes they do need to be removed if they've become larger and cause problems/discomfort and stop the cervix being visible to the doctor when having a cervical screening (smear test). If they're not causing any problems, then no, they don't need to be removed as nabothian cysts aren't harmful. Please do speak to your doctor if you notice any pain/changes etc.
Best Wishes,
Ask Eve

I've had a Nabothian Cyst. Never knew it was there, no sypmptoms, and it hasn't been picked up by CT scans, vaginal scan or MRI. I only knew about it after surgery and from the surgeon's report. They had removed my cervix, amongst many other thing, and it was found then.
hello, did you have any bleeding?
