Hi. I'm post menopausal, age 50, and 2 weeks ago stared getting bleeding, pink discharge and brown discharge, smelly too. I decided to go to the doctors this week. I've now received my appointment for 2/11. I just can't think of anything else, I can't concentrate on work. How do I get through the next 2 weeks?

Hi there,
Thank you for your message. We're sorry to hear that you're having a worrying and stressful time. Post-menopausal bleeding is bleeding 12 or more months after your last period so if your last period was less than a year ago, there's a chance this could be part of the menopause/another/final period. If you are definitely post-menopause, then there are a number of explanations for an unusual vaginal bleed that are not too serious, for example, thinning or inflammation of the vaginal or womb lining due to lower oestrogen levels. It's really good that you've already booked your doctors appointment. If you'd like to talk to our Nurse Specialist, Tracie on the phone, please email nurse@eveappeal.org.uk with your phone number and when are good/bad times to call.
Best Wishes,
The Ask Eve Team.
