Hives

I went off gluten two weeks ago and developed hives. Is there a connection ?

Hi there, sometimes when someone starts their gf diet they have other reactions because they are now absorbing more from their food and the body is now reacting before adjusting to being gluten free.

Some people cannot digest lactose in milk when they first go gf and this often clears up as the villi heals. And are you aware of the connection between CD and DH and how similar hives can appear to DH? This sounds worth looking into I'd have thought.

If you've started eating lots of gluten-free products in the last two weeks, then you could be having a reaction to one of the ingredients in them.

They may be gluten-free, but they're not always healthy! They don't suit everyone.
