Hi Lancashirelass07 I've been on Simbrinza which is a combination of Brinzolamide and Brimonidine eye drops for over 18 months now. I have had no issues with it at all and absolutely no side effects. Everyone obviously responds differently to individual medications and although they have to list every side effect you may experience none. I take Simbrinza twice a day in conjunction with Ganfort at night.

Hi Lancashirelass07, I’ve on Brinzolamide twice a day, plus Tiopex twice a day, and latanopost last thing at night, for a year now and so far so good! My heart sinks when I read all the possible side effects however I’ve been ok! If you do experience anything that worries contact your eye clinic, I’m sure they will be helpfulx

Thank you ,it's a bit worrying when you get new drops , shouldn't have read the leaflet. But will give them a try what time of day do you take your drops, and are they working.?

I take Tiopex at 7 am, 7pm, Brinzolamide at 8am, 8pm, and Lanatopost about 10 before going to bed. Yes I think they are, my pressures were mid 20s and 30, today they were both 15, two weeks after op left eye had gone from 30 to 10, now 15 so will be interested when pressures are taken again in two weeks. Just hope they do not go above 15. Time will tell x

HiI`ve been on brinzolamide for years. It seems to bring the pressure down.

It can leave a white residue so I wipe it away. Not attractive but it's handy as I can do a visual check to see if I've remembered to put in the drops!

I do have swelling and dry eye and occasional pain but just in the eye that they operated on. I use brinzolamide in both eyes so I suspect those problems are linked to the meds they used during and after the operation.

All the best

Hi when were you diagnosed with glaucoma and what type do you have?

I have open angled glaucoma diagnosed in january 2021. I was taking monoprost for 2 years for high pressure. They gave me brinzolamide and I could not take the side effects of it. I went on alphagan and that was ok, however it did not bring my pressure of 28 down enough. They then wanted to give me a beta blocker... I therefore saw another specialist and she gave me slt laser in march 2021. I am back on just taking monoprost once a day in the night now. today my test showed pressure at 18 and i am incredibly happy about this. are you suitable for slt laser. valfrance

I've been on those two since diagnosis; not had any problems with them. That probably just places me as "ordinary". Nowadays the requirements to list all side effects makes such lists rather frighteningly long.

Latanoprost was invented only 10 years ago or so as an ''exciting new eye drop''. So Brinzolamide is old''der'' but these two wok opposite ways so comparison is meaningless. I am using these two as well. No side effects to ail me.

What I am curious about is one of Latano's unique side effects. If you have green eyes, your eyes will turn brown over the years and this is often but not always irreversible, likewise, light brown eyes turn dark brown- but blue eyes are normally not affected- curious - which reminds of that country song ''Don't make my brown eyes blue''. I assume grey eyes also unaffected.

Also, Latano use may make your eye lushes grow longer and thicker - which the patients' young daughters might take notice.😁

Has anyone noticed these cosmetic side effects?
