Throwing up after taking pill

I've peen taking the pill for a couple of months now, and yesterday I was on my 7th pill which I took at 8pm.... Then later at 4am I threw up .... ? Does this mean the pill came up with it? If so does that mean I'm not protected from pregnancy for just that day or the whole month taking the pill?
