We are partway through the adoption process again. Has anyone had experience of bringing another child into the household and how did their older sibling react?

We adopted 2 more siblings 2 years after our first child, and there was no problem at all. Our eldest was delighted to have other children in the house and she helped them to settle in and even 'mothered' them a little. It was a wonderful time.

We adopted a younger daughter 2years old (fas) to our family of an8year old adopted daughter(fas ) and 4birth children .there has been very little competition between birth and adopted children but almost constant mild rivalry between girls. Both have poor empathy skills and low self esteem in the older daughter combined with the necessity of youngest finding her placement the family .It is tiring but we knew it would be like this .We do have good days and on balance it is a good match, but it is a constant balancing act.Hope this helps
