As a mum of three I've had my fair share of accidents with my children. Have you ever kicked yourself over a completely preventable accident with your little one?

once, I was playing with my one year old nephew (when he was one like 3 years ago) and I slipped on a play matt as the floor is wooden and I fell while carrying him, not much damage except I broke an arm and he needed afew stitches, other than that we've recovered but I still don't trust myself with kids... I have to learn it was just an accident.

Ouch that sounds painful but it sounds like as a caring aunt you took the brunt of the impact and protected him as best you could.

Tripping up is just an unavoidable accident.

The good news is that if you are careful and know the common preventable accidents e.g., small children pulling adults' hot drinks onto themselves and getting badly scalded.

We were lucky enough to work with the Child Accident Prevention Trust who filmed a course with us to help parents understand and avoid preventable accidents where possible.

However, we will still trip up or bang into things whilst carrying our children even when we are trying to be careful. Try not to worry too much, you have learned from the accident (as we all try to) and have good intentions. x
