I am going to put it out there .

Did anyone get ill with encephalitis after taking the Covid vaccine?

This has been something that has been playing in my mind for a while

My mom was in later 60s in good health and active before having the vaccine.

Hi,

so sorry to hear this. All drugs have many potential side effects, even those properly tested and going through trials.

This one (in any of it's forms) was not tested fully at all and has a massive and horrific amount of side effects, including thousands of deaths (hidden under 'general disorders...' - 26,109 recorded so far)

Of the total reported effected (5, 286, 822) (all covid 19 vaccines - does not seperate despite suggesting it has - all show exactly the same figure no matter the brand of 'vaccine')

there are 1,960,844 nervous system disorders, of which encephalitis is down near the bottom with 'only' 396 reported instances. There could have been many more unrecognised as being connected.

Any other drug would have been taken off the market long ago. It's truly disgusting.

Type in 'covid 19' to the following to see these figures (as mentioned you are given the option to choose which vaccine - it does not matter which you click on, the same figures are shown - a combination of all I suppose).

vigiaccess.org/

My father is now in heart failure. He will not recognise the connection (6,157). They coincidentaly brought out a new drug to treat heart failure just in time.

Know of many other people now suffering after getting these.

Sorry if too much information.

Wishing you and your mum lots of luck. Take care.

Hi GIL910

My mom fell ill with autoimmune encephalitis within 2 weeks of having the Covid vaccine . She was in good health before.

For me , it feels like too much of a coincidence but I guess we will never know .

I got severe Covid at the start of 2020 before the vaccines were deployed. I ended up in hospital for 3 weeks as the area of my brain previously damaged by encephalitis was affected , so I lost the ability to speak and had multiple seizures . I recovered , and then I went on to have the vaccine at the end of 2020. The vaccine didn’t cause any side effects at all . The actual virus was the problem for me .

I was very ill (and tested positive for covid) at the start of April 2023 and subsequently went into a coma for nearly two months.

It took them a while to diagnose what was wrong with me but after numerous blood, MRI, CT scans etc they came out with a diagnosis of Encephalitis (more specifically Acute Necrotizing Rhombencephalitis) caused by covid.

Once I came out of the coma I was unable to walk, talk properly or use my hands. The scans of my brain were cloudy and showed full brain inflammation.

I remained in hospital for a further four months and was eventually admitted to a neurological rehabilitation centre where I relearned to walk, talk, etc. I still have problems with my hands and some balancing issues but generally I have made a good recovery.

At the time if my illness I have had the covid vaccine and all boosters. Subsequently, I had the latest booster in October 2023.

Thanks for sharing . It sounds like you’ve had an incredibly tough time . I’m glad you’re recovering now.

I have had Covid again since getting the booster, but thankfully it was nothing like the first time , as I just had a mild cough . I’m going to carry on getting boosters .

So sorry to hear this as well. I got a very deadly form E in late 2020, when covid was bad but before the vaccine came out. They were unsure why I ever got E but there always is a factor that covid played into it. I got all the vaccines and booster as well for covid and I never had any issues. There always is risks for any medicine but I really want to cut the risk of getting covid with taking other precautions as well. Hope my input helps you!

I was a 54 year old physically active man. I went to the gym 5 times a week and went on long walks regularly with my dogs.

At the start of April 2023 I became quite ill and tested positive for covid. I quickly went into a coma and remained in that stare for nearly two months.

It took the doctors a while to propetly diagnose what was wrong with me but after numerous blood, MRI, CT scans, etc they came out with a diagnosis of Encephalitis (more specifically Acute Necrotizing Rhombencephalitis) caused by covid.

I eventually came out of the coma after two months and was unable to walk, talk properly or use my hands. The scans of my brain were cloudy and showed full brain inflammation.

I was treated with Prednisone steriods (initially intravenous and later tablets) and anti seizure medication.

I remained in hospital for a further four months and was eventually admitted to a neurological rehabilitation centre where I relearned to walk, talk, etc. I still have problems with my hands and some balancing issues but generally I have made a good recovery.

At the time of my illness I have had the covid vaccine and all boosters. Subsequently, I had the latest booster in October 2023.

I am so very sorry for this struggle. It is similar to my husband's, almost same age, he was 53 and in very good health. He had covid in early summer 2022, then long covid, but then developed hsv encephalitis (March 2023) that was nearly fatal. No one has talked to us about the connection between covid and his encephalitis. I wish you well, and wish more people were talking about the connection between covid and encephalitis.

Thank you. I agree enough people are not talking about the connection between Covid, the covid vaccine and Encephalitis.

Slightly off topic, but re the flu vaccine. My husband had his first ever flu vaccine at the end of November 2020, and 10 hours later he collapsed with a seizure (never had one before) and was rushed to hospital. He was diagnosed with autoimmune encephalitis, had to give up driving because of the seizures. He's still not right now, although greatly improved in some respects. I find it hard to believe the vaccine was not a factor. As far as I am concerned that flu jab ruined our lives, and neither of us will ever touch another vaccine again. Needless to say he has steered clear of the covid vaccine, and has remained covid-free throughout the pandemic, in spite of being in hospital a year ago in a ward where there was covid.

I am convinced that the Covid vaccine caused my husbands encephalitis but obviously have no proof of this. He was perfectly healthy before having the vaccine done. He passed away from it last year:(

That's heartbreaking, so very sorry to hear that.

Sorry if this is insensitive (I'm not so good at telling/communicating) but did you report it at all to the yellow card scheme? It's not much comfort or anything but shares the effects for others to see/be warned. If they look.

I found it helpful for myself too as it helped when all the medical people around me were manipulating the truth (to hide what happened/deflect blame), I could see what was real. The response to my yellow card report was that I'd had a serious event, while doctors/complaints dept etc were trying to tell me nothing was really wrong.

(Sorry, not about me)

Just wishing you healing and hugs. Wish it had never happened.

Kw55 profile image

Yes I have reported it to the yellow card report but havent heard anything back from them. I just want to someone to look into it properly even tho it's not going to help me at all now x

Hi, I actually emailed the yellow card website a little while after I'd filled in the form, as I'd forgotten what I had written, and had found their list of symptoms helpful. They sent me a copy of what I had filled in, and within the report it stated that the reaction was 'medically significant' (just checked). I'd actually remembered it differently. My memory and words are not great.

I wish I had more helpful advice/suggestions for you. I do wonder if there is a group organising something to sue. Problem being the drug companies I believe got immunity from being held accountable so all pay out of compensation come from taxpayers (NHS)... I know of a woman who got the maximum compensation for the death of her husband, she managed to prove a link, £120,000 is apparently the maximum we are worth.

Just found her, unfortunately googling trying to remember her name it comes up with many others. It seems I am wrong and some people are sueing the drug manufacturers...

This is the lady I'd read about. She campaigned and fought to get justice. Perhaps she may have tips/ideas, she's on Instagram as 'mrscharlottewright87', hope that's ok to share on here...

Sorry if too much information. Lots of luck. You are, so sadly, not alone. If you are on facebook also there are a number of groups, I believe, of those injured/survivors/family members. Arnica was a group set up by parents of injured children in the past by previous ones (arnica.org.uk/).

Again, sorry some of this likely not relevent to you and maybe overwhelming.

Best wishes.x

There is lots of data to suggest that the Vax was/is dangerous. Not properly tested, safety concerns overidden, too many vested interests and misinformation. My Enc doctor advised me against the vax and said I had enough problems already. My Autoimmune Enc. was possibly brought on by a low thyroid hormone level (Hashimoto's).

I caught Covid and pneumonia and survived both using IV antibiotics - Covid has a 95+% recovery rate - people tend to die from other causes.

Yes my husband , he had the third dose of COVID vaccine by Pf....r on 5th of January 2022 when he felt really ill and exhausted like going through COVID he even had a covid test which resulted negative. After 3-4 days he started feeling better until the the 13th of January 2022 when we woke up and he could not remember where is located his office the schools of the kids and every minute was passing his memory was reducing so we went to the hospital and after 37 days of stay we came out with autoimmune encephalitis...a disaster

Hi GIL910,

I'm so sorry to hear about your poor mom.

Well, it was the day after my first birthday when I had Herpes Simplex encephalitis, and there was no pandemic out at the time.

However, since all this Covid business has been on the scene I'm up to date with all my jabs and no I never got encephalitis again.

A few people have said that even with any/all medications there are always some side effects but I think it's weighing up how much good it will do, versus how many side effects if that makes sense.

I didn't know how to word this, but I think I meant to say the "pro's and con's" of everything.

There is also a choice of what jabs to have as well.

Hi am new to the site but have been asking this question ever since I contracted LGi1 autoimmune encephalitis back in 2021. After my 3rd covid jab I woke up one morning with an eye infection which was diagnosed as Iritis which was treated very quickly with steroids. Shortly after I then contracted the LGi1 which took a while to be diagnosed as initially it was thought that I had developed epilepsy. I had a full blown seizure in the hospital after being adivised to go to A&E after being examined by a doctor when calling 111. I was sent home after a couple of days with the epilepsy drugs but things were still not quite right and my wife called an ambulance as I was extremely confused and disorientated. The rest is history, after a three or so weeks and a couple of lumber puntures and various other examinations it became clear that it was LGi1. 3 years on and I seem to be doing ok, was looked after extremely well by the NHS and back to work and driving again so pretty much a full recovery!! I do have lots of aches and pains though sometimes extremely painfull so I am wondering if anyone else has had any of these issues and could it be the after effects of the encephalitis???

GIL910 profile image
GIL910 in reply to G13PAS

So sorry to hear this. My moms had a bumpy journey after been diagnosed with viral encephalitis. The aches pain is something quite often my mom experiences. She is nowhere back to her normal self.

I good to hear that someone made a full recovery.

The Covid vaccine is something that I often wonder if that is what caused my mom encephalitis.
