Another day Another crash.

Just needed to update everyone on things.

I’ve been experiencing stress, anxiety and fatigue on and off for a couple of months. I’ve just been trying to relax and trying not to panic. However, a couple of days ago I started with a dizzy head not just with tiredness/fatigue but also with this overall feeling of being unwell . This has gotten worse today to the extent I don’t fell very well at all. I’m getting very panicky.

This is the worst crash (if that’s what it is) since I was discharged in June last year. Don’t really want to go into hospital. Have called the local GP and am awaiting a call back. The frustrating thing is that he/she won’t have much idea of what I’m going through and will probably send me off to A&E anyway. I’ve already lost count of all the scans I’ve had so don’t really want anymore.

What’s it all about?

Remos ! I obviously don’t have the medical know-how to comment on what’s going on health-wise but I can say I can imagine how difficult it must feel right now for you … and I’m rooting for you.

Hello Remos, I was wondering where you got off to!

As a lifelong sufferer of anxiety/panic attacks, believe me, I feel your pain.

I must confess that I did not know what A&E meant in the medical industry in the UK. Here in the U.S. it stands for the Arts and Entertainment network, which is obviously incorrect!

😆 Apparently, it stands for "Accidents and Emergencies" aka "The ER" here.

No, another visit to A&E won't come up with anything new, and it's quite aggravating.

In my saga of anxiety treatment attempts, I have had a large quantity of different meds thrown at me, SSRIs, SNRIs, Benzo's, etc. They were essentially worthless to me since the side effects were worse than the anxiety.

I can't remember exactly when, but sometime last year, my anxiety syptoms suddenly diminished to the point of nonexistence. I am taking Buspirone HCL 10mg once per day, with the option of taking it 3 times per day. I never have had to take more than one, though. At this small dosage, I am not even sure that it is helping, or not, but since I am feeling better, I do not dare to attempt to stop taking it.

I was aware that I was doing much better when I got stuck in a LONG checkout line at the grocery store. Ordinarily, I would have an immediate panic attack and might even have had to leave the store, but on this occasion, I was aware that it did not bother me at all. As a matter of fact, some of us in line struck up a conversation about gardening and how the hot season was going to affect our plants. It was a very strange feeling of "family" for that time, which struck me as something I had been missing my entire life.

I'll finish this message another time; lightning strike hit very close!!! We are under a severe thunderstorm warning and tornado watch!! Oops, another close one just hit; gotta look for fire outside now.....

OK, looks like the worst of it is over for now! No fires or any other concerns! I should retaliate against the storm by getting my Brown Bess ready for service again! 😆 I've got some new flints but the frizzen pan needs some cleaning, etc.

I don't know what you are planning to do, or what your options are, in trying to get this condition under control. But I hope you find some way to manage it to a level of acceptability. Maybe you can ask about the Buspirone? (You might have already tried this, though, and may have even told me so. If this is the case, I apologise, just trying to be of some help.)

Dealing with day number 5 of contracting Covid after being fully vaccinated, too! Plus must call off of my job, which they might not be too happy about. Hoping I don't get sacked, but if it happens, it does.

About the only great thing I have to report is that my gardening efforts have improved this year! I have planted twice what I did last year, and a full two months earlier!!! Let's see if I get some tasty veggies this year!!!

Wishing you all the best. If we lived next-door, I would attempt to get you to assist me in planting some lupines!!

Till next time,

Old Gnome

Hi OldGnome - Apologies for my short reply before, but I wasn’t able to focus the state I was in. I’m feeling better now so thought I’d reply with an update. I managed to see a doctor who took all my readings which seemed reasonable. She concluded that I should consider anti-depressants to help with my anxiety and gave me something to help me sleep before sending me home. In the past I would just have had a glass of beer to relax which I no-longer do. Although nobody has said to completely avoid alcohol. Not sure what caused the crash. Maybe it was a number of things - who knows.

Really appreciated your responses. It really is a shame we all live so far apart. I think we’d all make great buddies.

My wife likes the pictures you send of your garden. She’s growing pumpkins and corn at the moment. I’ve asked her to grow some Lupins next season.

Here’s a photo.

Hello Remos and I must apologise for my tardy reply. Getting the Covid bug was something I could have done without!

Hope you can find some way of managing the anxiety. As I may have mentioned before, for no reason at all, my anxiety pretty much disappeared and the med that I take is minimal in dosage.

I love the garden pics!! I didn't know that corn was something grown much in the UK. Given the cooler temps, I have heard that you folks need to concentrate on quicker growing things, such as radishes, cucumbers, summer squash, etc.

My garden is getting out of control now, which is a good thing! Here is a picture of the exact same plant, with the watering can:

Behold the Zucchini plant!!

Hi Remos,How are you feeling?

Did you have to go to Doctors or hospital?

Hi Zanzibar3 - feeling ok at the moment. I did get an appointment to see a doctor in the evening but thankfully didn’t need to go to hospital. I came back home and went to bed. Thankfully things seemed to ease the next day. It was a horrible experience and I hope it doesn’t happen again. But if it does maybe I’ll be better able to cope. Thanks for thinking of me.
