Good afternoon all hope your all keeping well , Giving my last post about driving, after 6 month of not hearing anything back from dvla as I was told to notify them by doctors, I asked my local mp for help , he contacted dvla and we got a response , apparently dvla received report from neurologist which they requested but we’re not given enough information for them to make a fitness to drive descision, they have now requested I attend for a clinical medical from my local doctor which dvla is paying for, lucky enough I have managed to get a face to face with my doctor for this in the coming week, however dvla timeframe they have given me is 4 weeks from letter to get appointment and for them to have results or my entitlements may be at risk , also have secured a place self refered at a cost of myself to drive ability Scotland who do driving assessments and include a full medical review of driving with a doctor and instructer , which is valid also for employers and dvla , which will highlight any issues or give me the all clear , again dvla back log at the moment is a nightmare ,

DVLA weren’t interested in me once my neurologist signed me off. Good luck. Let us know how you get on.

Update to this , doctor clinical exam done took all of 15 minutes, advice from doctor was there is nothing on my medical history before or after the encephalitis that would make him stop myself from driving, again the form that was sent to my doctor was asking same questions pretty much as to what they asked the hospital, seizures, brain operations, visual aspects, and mobility with arms legs , now waiting game begins to see how dvla respond to this medical review, attending follow up mri scan tomorrow , the follow up from June to check that the small swelling area has either stayed same or improved, hopefully shows something good,, driving assessment next week hoping it goes well so that I can gain a little part of that aspect of my life back
