Pains and recovery

Thankfully after 3 month these headaches have calmed down a little, still get them occasionally compared to all day every day, mostly only get them now if I do to much activity or out in sun for a little while . Iv put that down to sensitivity on scalp for the weird sensation of burning but more convinced it’s the heat that triggers headaches after tht . Just when things start to level off I end up with sensitive teeth 7 due to me possibly bitting down grinding teeth when sleeping all happened since I was in hospital and low and behold the inside of cheeks are swollen. Dentist gave penicillin and had a small reaction to them , a nice visit to out of hours doctors went to my own doctor two days later as swelling was causing severe ear pain got prescribed amoxicillin her logic was you have never reacted to these so should be fine , now can barely walk due to lower back pain possibly way I’m layen in bed. Just can’t help but wonder what’s next, I thought once out of hospital it was recovery part obviously the after affects of encephalitis that I could live with but seems to me that I know my body is run down seems I’m just catching everything and now again Covid vaccine number 2 is a week away

Hi there,

I'm so sorry to hear you've been so unwell. I know it can be disheartening when you leave the hospital and have lots of new and uncertain symptoms to deal with and sometimes with very little support from the hospital team.

The encephalitis society is a fantastic resource if you ever need support or advice on how to manage encephalitis especially after only recently leaving the hospital and recovering from encephalitis. Chatting to others has helped me a lot by hearing their coping mechanisms for life after encephalitis. The encephalitis society hosts zoom calls where you can chat to others affected by encephalitis. You can get involved via this link: encephalitis.info/support

Here are some tips for recovering after encephalitis: encephalitis.info/guideline...

Thanks for reaching out and sharing your story.

Since I had encephalitis, I deal with pain such as migraines, neck spasms and back pain but I try to link in with my doctor and discuss all options that may help!
