Helping others understand the need to take the pandemic seriously via sharing info about encephalitis. This article could help

Hi everyone, everyone's having a hard time with coronavirus but I think chronic illness sufferers may be feeling it even more. We're inclined to be more careful than the average person and some of us are immunocompromised. I know I've been having trouble with explaining to others why I can't get together with them in most cases.

So I recently wrote an article below which is part "raise awareness about autoimmune encephalitis" via sharing my AE story and part "please be careful about taking unnecessary COVID risks."

Not nearly enough people know that even the young and healthy can end up with debilitating symptoms that turn chronic, and I would be devastated to see someone in my circle needlessly suffer with encephalitis like we have.

I hope you'll consider giving it a read and sharing it with anyone who might be giving you a hard time about taking the pandemic so seriously or having hesitations about social occasions. Cheers!

I'm happy to hear your feedback on this! I have been fortunate to benefit from the services of the Encephalitis Society and hope to play a small part in contributing to the field of AE though my writing . Thank YOU for what you do to help alleviate the burden of this illness on patients and caregivers!
