Although I had made several visits to the doctor saying how tired and fatigued I was, since 1990, it was not until 2004, that I was diagnosed as having CFS. and that the root cause was a very bad virus, which I caught during the pregnancy of my first son in 1984. So if you time it from then, it is 29 years, before it was diagnosed. If you time it from when I moved to Suffolk in 1990, then it is 14 years.

It depends on how you define how long to get a diagnosis. Once I had my breakdown and went to the doctor who found Epstein Barr antibodies in my blood test, said she suspected post viral infection, then started the long process of further tests, the diagnosis to CFS took about 9 months.

HOWEVER, like many others I had been going to the surgery for YEARS prior to that complaining of inexplicable fatigue and infections and viruses and problems with loss of voice and brain fog etc etc etc. So depending on how you define it you could say 9 months or around 15 years or more.
