Do you think that there needs to be more awareness surrounding Dyslexia in the community? If so, how could this be improved?

I think the awareness should start in class in nursery. Very early on and be openly discussed, taught, acknowledged and explained in schools, groups, at all levels and be made compulsory so that when people leave school they not only have heard about it, but actually know what it is and that by accepting it's just how someone else learns differently we wouldn't have to have awareness programs.

I also think in work places, employers should do much more and even send people in management/owners on courses so that they can be more flexible in how they communicate with people with dyslexia and learn themselves how to understand it so it brings out the best in a person. Which will put everyone in a win win situation.

National awareness: Teach children very early what it is, so they are aware of it and when children become adults, and it won't become a problem. Yes it's a long term outcome but one what would work. I don't think it's idealistic too, the government just don't need to be lazy and stuck in the 1800's!

On the overhand you could paint dyslexic awareness on a board and hang it up on me and i will travel the country and walk round in every town and city! Of course you will need to pay me travel expenses
