Hi Nadine

If u r looking for an official diagnosis visit an educational psychologist they charge around £250 upwards. If u r in college I’m sure they will have tests that can be done in house at no cost often colleges do English tests before u start regardless of what gcse grades u have if u have an EHCP then they tend to use that as evidence though often these r out of date by the time you move onto college

If you go and see the course tutor at Uni or contact student support and tell them of your struggles and evidence etc that you believe you are dyslexia etc then I am sure they can point you in the right direction. I'd pay private as a last resort really. Hundred of young adults are not diagnosed by primary or secondary schools and only when they go to college or uni do they find out they are dyslexic or have SEN. So many are let down by the system. Wishing you lots of luck at Uni. My son attends a specialist dyslexic school and currently in Year 9 we had his open day at his school the other day and the guest speaker was a former pupil who is now a DR and was so inspirational. He said follow your dreams what you are interested in doesnt matter what route you go as long as you do what you are passionate about you will get there.

Thanks I got a private diagnosis of severe dyslexia but I was neglected all through my education. I’m waiting for a confirmation of dyspraxia.

But now I have had papers from primary saying I have other learning difficulties I’m just wondering do I need another test.

I been let down so badly but got to try and get on with it .

My son has a diagnosis of severe dyslexia and dyscalculia. He also has traits of autism but to be honest I’m not going to have him tested again as another diagnosis isn’t going to bring any further intaventions etc.
