Okay, I know you're going to think I'm either joking or nuts, but I swear this helps -- sometimes.

Buy some good quality chocolate milk. Get a few small containers you can pour the milk in. (I use leftover yogurt containers, the little ones.) Put the containers in the freezer.

When the pain maxes out, go ahead and try it.

I know it's crazy, but when you're out of your mind in pain, you'll try anything.

Hey, if it doesn't work for you, nothing's wasted. You'll have a fun dessert.

What do you do with the frozen containers of chocolate milk? Apply them to the affected areas? Directly on the skin or is it wrapped in a sock? Would a container of Godiva ice cream work, since some people don’t care for chocolate milk. The dessert would be a great reward to look forward to after enduring pain.

Oh how embarrassing! That's what happens when your mind starts to go!

Eat it. Yum! Plus, heaven knows why, sometimes it reduces the pain. Dramatically.

I've only tried this late at night when I'm half-crazy with pain.

By the way, ice cream is a well-known panacea. All the best authorities agree.

Lol I agree with all the best authorities. And you gotta do what you gotta do.

What does your doctor recommend?

Not much to be honest, put me pregabalin which isn’t doing much so far.

Did your doctor say what the cause of the neuropathy is?

They said it could be due to drinking a lot in my younger days or after I had a heavy fall a couple of years ago.

I can’t give medical advice, but if I were you, I’d discuss with my doctor about treatments that might work better, since what you’ve been prescribed doesn’t seem to help very well. And if you are still drinking, stop. It can counteract beneficial treatment. Your doctor can’t help you if aren’t fully honest with him.

Hopefully you’ve stopped drinking. That will just exacerbate your problem. Sorry you’re going through this.

Are you diabetic? I have neuropathy of the feet through it so have to look after my feet carefully. I too have been experiencing stabbing pains and also fire ants sensation in my feet recently. I suspect, but only suspect, it’s to do with sugar intake.

Balance? Have you tried standing on alternate feet while brushing teeth.

I am no longer a drinker. I will try that for my balance thank you.

I’m teetotal as well, but a new diabetic drug seemed to have given me a sweet tooth which was hard to get over.
