I had a MedicAlert bracelet while I had a transplant, and got it changed when I went on PD. It costs about £30/year, but it gives you piece of mind. Check out medicalert.org.uk, but there are other organisations that have similar products.

i was given one of those popular plastic/rubber bands by my dialysis unit. it is red and has "fistula right arm" and "no BP testing/needles in this arm" written on it in white. I am very glad I have it because I was getting paranoid about forgetting to tell nurses etc or perhaps not being to tell them because I am really ill or unconsious

Hi Superman56, if you do get a medical alert Medical Alert Bracelet just make sure if you have a fistula in your wrist it`s not to tight,

My dialysis unit supplied me with a simple but good idea which I think has been supplied by the kidney association. It is quite simply a purple wristband which has printed on it - no bp/needles. Fistula left arm (as this is the arm that my fistula is on) also available with fistula right arm. Makes people aware if you are ill or something but such a simple idea.
