Doctors prefer once in every six months. But i check my regular sugar every month using glucometer. My H1Ac is around 7.5 to 8.5

Your doctor should not give up on you or anyone else that is his patient. Can you get a new doctor?

How big are the chapati? Can you cut them in half and use the other half for another meal/snack? How many carbs. do you have for meals/snacks?

I go for blood test every six months as per UK, NHS guide lines. I am not on any medication.

May be soon as my HbA1c is increasing, no one can tell me if HbA1c increase with age. May be there is no real data.

I am maintaining my weight, do regular exercise. As I age food intake quantity is going down.

When ever I say any report on diabetic, I look for contact details of specialist and ask questions via email. The latest response was to bring weigh down to the weigh at age 25. Very difficult. At the age of 74, my weight is 73kg. To achieve the weight at the age of 25, I need to loose another 5kg. I am on it.

I go for diabetic check and eye check once a year.

Did the doctor say how much time they want to see an improvement/weight loss? Do they want you to come to their office to do a weight check or can you tell them over the phone?

At the moment telephone conversation only. Diabetic nurse has a graph which show as weight comes down HbA1C also comes down. There is no age given.!

For me I have managed without any medication for nearly 10 years on both cholesterol and blood glucose. I believe that blood numbers do go up as we age.

May be I wait for the next blood test which is in December this year.

I underwent the A1c test last in March 2021 and the result was 6.03. Before that, it was 6.23 in October 2020. I tried to utilize the covid containment situation to reduce my body weight and that has come down from 74 Kg to 68 kg now. I am now 60 years by age and 164 cm by height and suffering from diabetes for the last 15 years.

What has your doctor suggested for you to eat/drink for getting the A1c and daily blood sugars down slightly?
