clv1950 ,

The Galvus may be under the None of the Above since it's not listed as a choice. :-)

How do you understand whether Ayurvedic or Metformin/DPP4 inhibitor works for you?

I stopped Diabecon for 10 days to see& measured post pandrial blood sugar both after breakfast & after lunch & it shooted like anything. After 10 days, I again started taking it once in morning & once in night, & my blood sugar were much lower & stable also

What type of insulin do you take and how many times a day? I can see if my insulin course helps me to understand your answer.

I’m on two types: fast acting- Novalog and slow acting- Basaglar. Novolog 2-3 times a day. Basaglar at night for 24 hours.

Thank you. I did learn about fast acting, slow acting, mixed dosage as well.

Do you do your own dosage calculation for your injection?

Yes, but it depends on the type of food and blood sugar.

Yes, I agree. I have read in UK papers how HCA made mistakes in their calculations!

I Went for none of the above. Two reasons.

1. Chinese medicine man and I had a very long conversation on diabetes, allergy and health one day. At the end of the discussion it was decided to accept the sugar level and to control it by life style change. Only time will tell.

2. My guru from India on my visit I was asked why am I worried about my children and my health. There is nothing to worry about on both count I was told. I took this on and my life style is helping me so far.

I would respect recommendations of the Chinese medicine man; better than Big Pharma. There is a doctor and his wife somewhere in the Midlands of the U.K. who has successfully treated diabetics (type II) by adjusting the diet of his patients. In principle it is high saturated fats and low carbohydrates.

This is not the chap I'm thinking of but I have seen this one on T.V. He gave a most enlightening lecture.
