Which method you are using to take insulin? - Diabetes India
Please select all that apply:
not expensive,dosage convenience
I use syringe and vial at home and injection when out of house oe travelling because it is convenient and can be had in arm also
I am taking tablet only half after breakfast and half after dinner that what our family doctor adviced
I am still on tablets
I am still using Dionil occasionally
low carb is ok, but high fat?, it is contradictory, really speaking it should be very low fat. Have you checked your blood sugar lately?, if not please check.
I am using Glimy 2 mg and Homeopathy medicine
After certain periods and due to advanced age tablet does not work and one has to depend on insulin,I am affected by diabetes since last 27 years,Now I am taking insulin.
I use syringe for the morning dose and pen before dinner and during travel. I find that there can be some wastage while using cartage and pen. I find the stomach muscles to be the convenient area. By the way a syringe looses its sharpness after few doses while the needle on the pen remains intact for a longer time.
I take insulin Vial-syringe 2 times a day. Before breakfast and before dinner. I also take gluco red forte tablets along with insulin twice a day with other medicines.
I take Insulin Four Times a day ( 12 units each time) I use Insulin Pen.
I am taking Galvus before breakfast (50 mg) and Melmet(500 mg of 2 tablets)before dinner daily for the last 2 years and presently my sugar level is complete normal. I am 61 years old and have no other complicatiions. Every month I am consulting with my doctor. mohan
I am diabetic - 2 since I was diagnoised five years back. On the first occasion I rwas prescribed by the doctor to take Glucored Forte once a day in the morning. On taking the same on the first day only, I felt giddy and went almost unconcious, had to take tablespoon full of glucose immediately. I went against doctors advice and did not take glucored forte any further.
Bought my self the glucose test kit One touch Ultra and started testing glucose level frequently say twice in a week. Consulted another doctor and as per the tests found to be marginal case and was advised to control the sugar level in blood by proper diet. Doctor also suggested to keep the tablet semi-daonil handy in case need be. At present sugar level is under control by doing excercise and yoga everyday without fail also keepiing strict control on my food. However even with all these, if I consume heavy food followed by sweets at some functions I need to take half tablet of semi danonil.(If I take one full tablet I go into to hypoglycemia.)
All the above mentioned truly and in good faith.
As detailed, I am presently using vial insulin and also prefilled pen insulin as and when
I need depending on when and where I am and also the convenience. The remaining
vials are leftovers from my previous usage of the insulin pump, which I am not using any
more. I find the prefilled insulin pens good enough for I am able to be on diet and
measure the carb and take appropriate insulin dosage. In addition I do check my blood
glucose at frequent intervals to be safe enough. Regarding cure, I have no idea than a
bit of hearsay knowledge of islet transplantation. How far it is safe is a venture I cannot discuss supportively. Any questions, please feel to connect to rajuannu@optonline.net.
GOD Bless !

Why don't you take the trouble of travelling to Medanta at Gurgaon. There are some excellent endocrinologist to help you. Medanta treatment is not cheap but you consult the best in business. I stay in Mumbai but I travel at least 2 times for this there. Most of the Mumbai doctors are hoax and suffer a band wagon syndrome of your old prescriptions often.

Diabetics can be under control with Yoga & Meditation as also with our food there are many types of medicines in India to control Blood Sugar, however only medication will not help it is our food eat selected vegetarian food cooked properly which will help you to feel your blood sugar level under control. This is well said but very difficult to practice due to present life style in society where we have to many times get no option but eat what we get during various festivals and traditional functions.Diabetic parents may gift this to us which we can't help.If long term blood sugar is just 6.0 there is no problem.Every 4 months I check this at a Diagnostic center who take blood samples from home.
happiness is the best remedies. If you are aged do yoga...PADMA-ASANA for 10 minutes till you start sweating. Then have breakfast with slight sugar(do not use sweetner) .Have green tea instead of coffee. Whenever you feel giddy-ness pl have one sugar cubes only.

MY DIABETIES DETECTED IN THE MONTH OF MARCH 2011 AND I AM STILL ON TABLETS
I am taking very less qty of medicine . My level was 190 after meals and before meals(fasting) it was around 130. And I used take diabend M 100 one tablet a day. From January I used to drink everyday one litre of water in the morning before taking anything in empty stomach . Now my sugar level is almost normal ie < 100 with fasting and 165 to 170 after meals. But the problem with itching with toes and under both feet still there. And I feel better now than before with much less medicine. I am giving this information , from my personal experience only, that May or may not be true with everybody. So I request anybody not to venture with water therapy stoping completely with any medicine. Reduce the medicine only after checking continuously and if you find reduction of sugar level is permanent then only reduce medicine.
