My diabetes is not under control. Fear that I might develop CKD as my urine output has decreased. How much time does it take for Dibetes to affect the Kidneys. Can any one tell me. Will end up on Dialysis.
Unless diabetes in advanced stage and already affected kidney there is no reason for decrease in urine (flow). Some times you may have prostrate enlargement. You should urgent meet a good physician thorough with diabetes and seek his treatment.
CKD may occur within a year or two if you do not control your your sugars. Control your diabetic level by consulting a specialist if your glycated hemoglobin levels are over 6
Will end up having dialysis as my urine output has decreased. How to know if my kidneys have been affected due to diabetes which I have since 2006.
Please do not get disheartened.There is kidney function test,urine flow test and also kidney culture test to see if you have an infection.Your diabetician or nephrologist can certainly help you.

You should also mention the glucose level in your is 2 hours after normal meal or in the morning when you get up. The level will vary according to the food taken and time passed

must drink in the morning light hot water 1-1.5litre will clean all organs internally and will get more benefits of herbs of daily use. try to use colourless spices in curry.

just watch your digesation..if it is regular and you are not feel of any uneasy u r ok..please dont believe the consulation of Dr. and medicine..just practicing..it is only curable..but no one tell lik that..hebal ayurvedic not new one..just what v r taking different kind of vegetables..thats all..god has given some life, v can live until that..so dont fear for diabetic...now the cultivations are doing with fully fertiliser and minrals not natural fertiliser..previously it was taken atleast 9 months to grow..now gazetted retd person..but my school days i was doing cultivation..now every hearvest is getting yield within 100 days by artificial..then where is the fully control of diabetic..Drs. are aiming the patient has to come everymonth to gorw their business as well as the factor/company of producing medicines are to work continuous..ok.please dont afraid..have life to live as u wish..without drinking and smoking..ok
one should follow regular intake of prescribed medicine and diet. Do some walking in the morning and try to take food in regular timings.

You do not say what is the age of your diabetes. Please clarify. In dealing with diabetes, at times, the truism one discoveers is "what is good for the geese may not be good for the gander"! I doubt if the abuse your system is riding through in terms of diet indiscipline, when you are just 50, will stay that way a couple of decades from now, though I wish that it will, for you. Also, since you claim to be also treating 500 people suffering from diabetes, can you also share with us, the statistical data?

Diabetes can not be cured, if we only talk about of Sugar. Our liver does two jobs at a time. 1) to increase cholesterol and 2) reduce sugar. If we a moderate condition for liver to perform its duty, it would; but we give extreme conditions in which it fails to deliver.
let us consider point 1) to increase cholesterol: Liver is suppose to produce about 1000 mg of cholesterol everyday. and 300 mg of cholesterol we may consume through food (from dairy products). To give the liver, leverage of producing cholesterol, we may need to consume about 45-50 grams of Oil. We are starting with a defect of eating less oil. How liver will function while we are restricting it from performing. Secondly we never take any saturated fat. Only saturated fat is converted to cholesterol. So we kill our liver from performing. Thirdly we take only unsaturated oil which will be converted to Triglyceride and never to cholesterol. Fourthly, increase of Triglyceride is very bad without right amount of cholesterol. This is basic cause for higher BP, Acidity etc. Fifthly we consume only sunflower oil which contains 78% omega 6 fatty acid. Omega 6 contributes to Pro-inflammatory eicosanoids.
Now let us consider point 2: When put money to our bank account we make sure that it entered in our passbook and be happy to see the increase in our account. But we take / consume sugar / sweet we expect Blood glucose not to increase. How is this possible? After easting food or sweet / sugar, Blood sugar should increase. After some-time it should automatically come-down or allow it to come down. If we consume excess sweet/sugar, which we are currently doing limits liver to control in normal range. important factor in sugar control is Insulin. Carbohydrate stimulates production of insulin and uses it. Protein Stimulates production Insulin but not using it. Oil and Fat from food neither stimulates nor uses insulin. So we should aim at balanced food and energy calculated food.
Kindly go-through the comment completely. The problem has to be addressed in totality and not in bits and pieces.
Till very recently, I took it that if FBS and PPBS are within the normal range with medication, it is construed as controlled diabetes. I came to know that it is not so. I was given very good explanation, as to why? I will share these details later.

1) walking every morning and evening and plus undergoing regular excersies. I would willingly undergo hard work by keeping away as much as possibe unwanted and avoidable comforts
2)though I (sometimes) take little sweets NOW AND THEN and white rice once a day I would strive my best to maintain dietary regime.
3) i HAVE HAD ALLOPATHY MEDICINE ONLY FOR THE FIRST YEAR AND THERE AFTER- THAT IS DURING THE PAST 9 YEARS i HAVE BEEN TAKING ONLY AYURVEDIC MEDICINE. BUT MY METHOD MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR ALL THE OTHER FELLOW DIABETIC PATIENTS FOR THE SIMPLE REASON THAT i AM LIITLE STRICT IN PERSONAL REGIME. FOR EXAMPLE i NEVER TOOK HOT DRINKS AND NEVER SMOKE IN MY LIFE. AS AGAINST MY OWN PERSONAL VALUES i WOULD ALWAYS STRIVE TO MAKE HARD WORK AS PART OF MY PERSONAL LIFE. prior to detected diabetes i do yoga from last ten yrs continusely and walking too, but it couldnt help me to get diabetes . still I do walk every morning 5 km. and little excercise also, and taking Novo rapid insuline injection morning 10 ml and evening 10 ml . it is under cotrol . one of my dr friend adviced me long back go for injection it doesnt has side effects and better then any tab or capsules . it has direct effect on body with no side effects. so i started injection and i am quite happy .
but dear how long ? if any solutions for this? no i think . there must be a need of weekly medicine / monthly medicine to control it , evrybody is facing problems to take medicine everydfay is a very tuff duty . how to get ride off plz suggest .

my date of birth is 10/9/1949 and1972 onwards I am taking Insulin .Now living with hypertension.and colestrol complaints . my dailly dose of medicin is 14 units 70/30 human insulin,5mg minipress tab, 25 mg losar tab in the morning 12 units 70/30 insulin in the evening with 25mg losar tab and 10 mg lipicure daily . Inever fails to take these even thogh sugar level is very low . My DoB is 07-01-1941from 2004 onwards iam diabetic,controlling with food and medication allopaty only. Diapride forte1-0-1 nad insulin 18-0-12 but i will mis insulin for the night more times. miday random 143 sugar level.I am fit and do all the works ride scooter and car. Diabitis from my knowledge is a life style disease and can't be cured altogether. One can only keep it under check from further complications. I am writing it as a patiet for the last 24 years. I was in different oral drugs for 20 years and then was asked by my physician to go in for insulin with a vobose0.3 vobose. I keep diat control and exercise. still I do not have much hope other than keep it under certain control till the last days. of course the intensity varies from person to person but certain after effects arev common. Let uis try to live with it till the last days
Let us not close our mind by just saying life-style is cause for diabetes. Let us also define in which life-style we won't be getting diabetes.

Eating Oats is not the answer. Rice, Wheat, Ragi has no much difference as such. Conveniently we differentiate for marketing purpose.

If we feel only sugar is problem for Diabetes, then we are wrong. It is complex problem with simple solution. Eat well, eat all, Sleep well feel well makes you free from any disease.
I was kept on Insulin for last 5 months but Dr. Found that I was having GB stones infecting Pancreas thereby I had to suffer frm. acute pancreatic attack turned into chronic one.I had to face lot of abdominal pains.BSL also went high upto 532.So Dr.admitted me and started 40/30 IU mixtard insulin per day and removed my GB and after that my BSL went surprisingly low upto 134 pp.Now I'm ok with metformin500 only.
More than anything else it is the dear spouse who regulates the intake of food.It is important for a fellow with a sweet tooth like me. Furthermore a minimum of 30 minutes of brisk walk is my routine nowadays. In Rajasthan I would go for at least for an hour in the smallhours of the morning. I recall my walk on the Jaisalmer Ramgarh Road in January winter in the pristine cold and the whole sparkling sky with stars not obscured by eve a wisp of cloud.
Will my kidneys get affected by diabetes. I am worried, I understand that diabetes affects the kidneys after 10 or 15 years of the onset of the diabetes. Is it true. Can some doctors on this group shed some light on the affect of diabetes on the kidneys.

I am a borderline case of Diabetes.I am trying different seasonal items e.g. Kerala juice,bottle guard juice,Neem juice,Jamun along with oral medicines for the last ten years to keep my daibetes under control.

good idea till your BSl remains in tolerable level i.e HBA1C at 6 & fasting not higher than 110 & PP not higher than 160. It would be a good idea to start waling regularly & add some form of physical exercise preferably yoga/ pranayam. Its good to do a bot of weights as diabetes systematically degrades your muscles as well
My sugar level is not cin control some time it goes to 300 fasting i am taking oral as well as insulin always remain in tension kindly suggest me how i can control my sugar. The comment should be true. I go for walk for about an hour every morning. I do sleep 7hrs every night. about an hour afternoon. I find that my d'tis is under control. FBS is about 115 and PPBS is about 137. Let me your experiences about BS cheking in lab and by glucometer.
Now-a-days diabetic has been like "Die-A-Bit", not allowed to die and the same time not getting cure. Treatment without mechanism of working in the body is like driving a car with closed eyes.
When we feel what changes it makes in body, we can see the result automatically. It cannot be same size shoe fits all. It should be customized.
Apart from medicine the most important part of controlling Blood Sugar is daily exercise and that too sufficient. This exercise not only keeps blood sugar low but also keeps you physically fit. Without exercise the medicines are also unable to help much so the focus should be regular exercise.

In the end only you are responsible for health. Before taking any medicine please get to know the side effects of the same. No medicine holy to say that it never causes any negative side effects. Because the molecule of the medicine itself is new to our body and cannot read it. The more medicine we take to control sugar more is the problem in removing it from body. All these tablet do is to store / keep on storing glucose into glycogen / Triglyceride. So unless we reduce these glucose will re-appear and pose a major problem
I have found a way to reduce triglyceride without increasing blood sugar. This is what my success in treating T2DM.
Walking may a good physical exercise but people are considering it as a mandatory is not acceptable. In stead of making walking a condition, they may walk to go to petty shop and local purchase.

My sugar level ,FBS is around 120 and PPBS is about 160. Iam 67,still working as a Professor,engage 3-4 hours of lecture classes. Altogether I used to walk 3-4 km a day.Follow a strict diet.Plenty of water and black tea,Always have happy and peaceful mind.Spent a lot of time in reading computer and cinema.Happy life.

First thing is that I do not bother that I am diabetic.I am 71 yrs old and I am diabetic since 6 yrs.My blood sugar varies my Doctor has told not to bother much about so long it is under control I take Glycomycin 500Mg two tablets one in day and in the night.Piopod 15 mg one tablet in the morning.Volipage .2mg during food one in the afternoon.I am BP patient I take Betaloc 25mg and envoys H 5 mg one in the morning.I drink 6 glass of water ad do regular light exercises.Mylast mont RBH was 157

I m taking 1 tab.glyneed-M in the morning and 1 tab bigomet SR 1000 at night and my sugar level is controlled.
I am having diabetes for nearly 25 years type 2. I am very well under control of this disease. Everyday walk for nearly an hour, take amaryl tablet 1 mg -1 and half morning 1 in the night before dinner, zosta 5 mg - i tab.night,cardace 2.5 mg 1 tab night and ecosprin 75 mg - i tab night. Do exercise regularly for about 1/2 an hour, take less rice, more vegetable and fruits in the night and never worry for anything. Stress free. I am 75 years old and am maintaining good health inspite of the fact that I have diabetese. Be cheerful and jolly. If you are a smoker and drink regularly or periodically, stop stop stop immediately if you want to live happily and keep other members in your family happy.

For better control not only one way is enough,we have to take composite action, oral drug/injection, Exercise ,yoga or pranayam, and dietary rescheduling.I had detected 400 PPBS BEFORE 13 years, doctor suggest for injection but still today i have control diabetes by above all measures.
Amiyakrishna, please do not denigrate cellular nutrition. I am sharing this from my personal experience and that of few others who I know. In view of the limitations arising out of guidelines of this site as well as ethics involved, I cannot share my address etc. But take it from me this line of research is quite old and kept from the public view mainly because of pharma lobby.
some times urine flow effected by prostate problem . we have to follow some exercise and yoga to remove it . i have seen on net that prostate is 100% curable by yoga.
the best way to control diabetes is through drinking 3 glass full of water 300ml each 1) soaked overnight with rudhraksh in copper glass 2) 1 glass of fresh amla juice 3) 10 leaves of bilva and tulsi on empty stomach and along with prescribed medication from diabetologist which i did for last 4 months and 1hr of brisk walk during early morning between 5.45 to 6.45 am . My 3months average sugar level is 5.3 before it was 8 and when I was diagnosed it was 456 on jan 2011. My medication on alopathy has reduced from 9 medications to 2.
Diabetes is not a disease - not to be in panic. To control it be happy, no tension. Morning walk compulsory, some exercises & have controlled diet. When I say control diet, it means one has to control calorie intake. Once you balance your calories then you may take what ever you want, but in limited quantity. Periodic checks (after every3/4 months ) are must.

I was in defence service and used to have regular check of blood sugar and cholesterol. I had FBS of around 110 with restricted diet and avoiding direct intake of sweet items and total cholesterol of about 220. I suffered a heart attack in Jun 2008 and found that my FBS and cholesterol had shot up. I underwent bypass in May 2009. Initially I was given insulin TDS with 500 mgs TDS. Gradually my FBS reduced. Initially reduced insulin from 15-15-12 to 15-15, then 12-12, then 10-10 and stopped. Similarly tablets have been reduced from three to two. When my FBS stabilised around 70 for few months I reduced the tablet to one. Then FBS shot up to 100+. Similarly, initially after surgery, I was being given Avas-10. Since some problems detected in a 48 hr holter in 2010, it has been increased to Avas-20. Now my cholesterol with Avas-20 is 130. Any advise ?
sir, diabetes is not a disease. it is a true friend who has come to help you. it prevents you from one deadly poison sugar. another is salt. those having blood pressure doctors will ask to give up salt. now sugar itself is dangerous.it is better one give up sugar. all the disease are friend of human being. if you treat like this the disease will not give you much trouble. whatever happens with our body is for good. believe in this theory. we are not the body. we are different from body. we are just witnessing the body. we are always there. we have changed many uniforms like dogs or cat or any wild animals or any living beings. as a human being we are given chance to act nicely .our role is just to witness . not to get carried away by any happenings. we always remain neutral .we are not the doers or consumers. now about mine body . this body became victim of diabetes in 1994.since then even as today doctors prescription is being followed i tried many ayurvedic medicines and so many other therapies like yoga and meditation. but it never gave satisfactory result.i have never tried to get rid of this but taken as good friend.i have taken full precautions in eating and followed diet as per doctor. but my reading is always fasting 150 and after lunch 250 and near about. because of medicines my body has lost its strength not able to walk fast or bent or do little hard jobs.always feeling down having so many types of pains in body top to bottom. but no medicine help me out. i dont believe in pain killers. i just take trigli -1 before lunch in the morning and nerve - up od after dinner. half trigli one and capsule of nerve up . in short i have never taken it serious but accepted as result of past karma. i believe in principles of karma.. body will have to pay penalty for its past karma. i wish all the best to all my collegues and request not to afraid of any chronic disease. accept it as result of our past deeds. take the medicines follow doctor or ayurved or homeopathy or any therapy you trust. but god is great. have faith and trust in god of your belief. best of luck.
Brothers & Sisters, cut-off raw sugar intake thru drinks, all kind of carbonated drinks. Try
to maintain 1 main meal a day, evenings take light food, try to keep away from too much
fried foods. Maintain any kind of exercise, which could sweat U. Eat fruits and drink lots
of water(treated ). Don't miss your Doctor's appointment and medication, either clinical or herbal.
Most of all, believe in yourself, believe in your prayers and always be positive minded,
