Is there a connection between an average resting pulse of 45 bpm and a BP of 160 /90?

Have I got a diesel heart?

Hello Monksilver I am not very good in reading bpm. Lets see what others will have to say. Alternatively if I was you I would find out from my GP. Best wishes.mm

For people who do a lot of exercise, 45bpm would indicate an extreme level of physical fitness: stroke volume increases, so pulse rate for a given power output falls. However, given your high blood pressure, I'm guessing that doesn't describe you ;)

Are you taking beta-blockers? If not, there are various other possible reasons for your low pulse rate, none of them easily treatable. Nevertheless, I would make a concerted attempt to improve the situation with exercise (consult your doctor first to find out what's going on) and fixing your diet, which I suspect involves too much stodge and not enough good old meat'n'veg.
