Hi, I have been taking 5mg Ramipril for high bp for some time now . Would like to know if anyone else has experienced tight feeling in feet and lower legs (as if wearing socks and shoes when not) while on this medication. Thanks

I've been taking 5mg Ramipril for at least 3 years now with no side effects, the problem I have is occasionally having swollen feet due to water retention because of the other medications I take. If you are worried I suggest you see your GP, at the very least it will put your mind at ease

Thanks Doggie (love the name esp. with the cat pic.!) I have asked doc. re prob. and had a load of bloods done, nothing seemed wrong. I was given the standard reason - stress - I have a husband who apart from physical probs. has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's (4 years back ) so of course I am "stressed" By nature I am anxious anyway but I instinctively feel tight feeling in feet and lower legs is due to something specific. Will be making another appt. to see doc. and have stopped taking ramipril keeping a check on bp and even without med. is ok. My tightness not any worse so perhaps soon I'll have an idea if ramipril was cause. Quite a few folks have experienced the tightness on R. fairly common and though it's more an irritation than anything I like to know

Love the name (esp. with cat pic.) Have asked doc. and been told "stress", had lots of bloods and nothing causing. I have found out that a lot of folks have the same prob. on ramipril so it's not unusual, didn't know this when I saw doc. so I'm leaving of the R. for a bit (but keeping check on bp ) I am naturally anxious by nature and husband not in good health, requires a lot of attention, has Alzheimer's with a few physical conditions so it would be odd if I weren't stressed! Will make another appt soon and how I hate that....admission of defeat????

hi, doc. diagnosed me as peripheral neuropathy ran bloods which showed nothing amiss. Discomfort (rather than pain) occurs when sitting or sometimes bad in the night. been of ramipril for about a week now, bp ok without but feet and lower legs still the same . Will have to give in and try to get another doc. appt.!
