I am a diabetic for more than 17 years and now 71 years old.I have not suffered any diabetic complications so far.I watch what I eat,how much I eat and keep regular meal timings.I go for daily walk for minimum 40 minutes with out fail.I go for quarterly check ups and yearly comprehensive review with a recognized diabetes hospital. It is a tough job, somewhat expensive too,but I am enjoying good health.

Most important point in diabetes management is knowledge about diabetes. It is indeed a complex issue and very unpredictable.Sometimes I honestly think that the treatment goes more by trial and error and a large dose of hope.Secondly, one needs a lot of will power and disciplined life style to manage diabetes.Tell me,knowing ourselves for what we are is it possible? Our fondness for food and weakness for alcohol aggravates the problem. And the treatment does not come cheap and also not available every where.I also think that next to baldness, this is the problem about which every body has got an opinion and most come to accept the correct path exhausting all other wrong options.

In diabetes, ignorance is not a bliss ,but a disaster.

Nice to see that you have so much concern for fellow humans.
