I can’t begin to tell you what a mess our courts are in but apparently everything is done by video link. I’ve had my first video link session with the judge last Wednesday day . I’m not sure why I was there because we were not allowed to speak only the two barristers and obviously the judge.

Because the case is complexed because everything is in the trust, she has ordered, that we both give statements we have 28 days to do so then she has 28 days in which to reply.So that is another court hearing at £5000 a time.

It took me three days to get over the court session, because you have to hear things and remember things which took place.I am suffering from PTSD and traumatic brain injury.,also foreign accent syndrome, but I must continue.

it seems to me wrong, because he has money,, and I am living on benefits also I have to pay so much all the time is very draining. And very worrying,my two friends from church have offered to lend me £10,000 as it’s going to cost me another £16,000 although I have paid £22,000 after selling all my jewellery I have nothing left.so I continue to fight the good fight.

I Get very tired but I must continue otherwise I will lose my home.

domestic Violence should not be this complicated does the authorities not realise how stressful how painful how belittling I feel.

But I will keep fighting and thank you for all your support believe me I need it.

This really is just to let you know how things are going.slower than a snail 3 1/2 years.But I say to you, who are in the same situation as myself fight the good fight with all your might.

Oh Liz,

I'm so sorry!

Such a traumatic experience and very costly indeed, which isn't right.

Is there any financial help to get through this process Liz? because if everyone had to pay so much, no one would go to court.

I'm not surprised your symptoms have been exacerbated, it's a horrible thing to have to go through.

Please rest for a few days and get your health back on track, before worrying about the next step.

Thanks, Chloe 40 Because I’m 74, I am unable to claim any help you have to be 70 or under (ages) thank you so much in replying to me. I seem to go on step up and 26 back but hopefully when I finished writing the statement, and then visit the solicitor again, my statement will go to the judge.we have 28 days and she has 28 days to write to her,and for her to read the replies.I am extremely tired but I have to keep going.God is keeping me strong.

Hi Liz,

I'm really sorry that you have to go through this, it is truly horrific going through the family courts. It took me 3 years to get to the end of my court case and you are right the family courts have no idea and are awful.

It seems never ending, but I did get through it and you can too. Take it one step at a time, the next statement, the next hearing. I tried not to look at the whole mountain and worked on getting through the days. Take the time you need to recover from each thing you have to do and be kind to yourself.

Have you found a domestic violence support group in your area? I found a wonderful charity that supported me and I couldn't have got through it without them. They provided all sorts of support and it really helped hearing the other women's stories. They might be able to help you find a friend advocate (I think it's called) if you are unable to have a barrister.

My thoughts are with you. You can do this.

Dear Olivia , thank you so much for your kind thoughts and you are right. The court have no idea how we suffer. Did they not think that we have suffered enough I wrote to Queen Camilla and I’m waiting for a reply.

Have been involved with the support group and yes they are very helpful but every time I get used to one they are either promoted or move to another job.

It’s the money, but I sold all my jewellery, to pay for the solicitor and the barrister has told me I need another £16,000. I have most of it so carefully handling. I think I might have enough that will be a total of the £38,000.

You think under the circumstances of abuse they would be more help with legal aid but Remember once it gets complicated? They don’t want to know.. so it’s pay up and pray for positive action on the finances. At least I don’t have to pay for the abuse at least I don’t think I do.? it’s over three years now,, but the police have been absolutely amazing. It’s the crown prosecution service that causes such problems to us. I told the queen that? on Thursday, I go to the solicitor to take my statement,we had 28 days, then the judge will have 28 days, then it’ll be back to the video via the court. Doesn’t anybody. work. In the courts today as it seems to me that it is all done via video link.
