I will admit, I didn't know different waters have differing levels of pH. I thoght they all had a pH of 0

The section from the article - Water to prevent kidney stones : tap vs bottled; hard vs soft - does it matter? Willis, Goldfarb, Thomas, Bultitude, is quoted below

'Increasingly 'high pH' or 'alkaline' water is marketed. These unbuffered solutions should not affect urinary pH and therefore should not be beneficial for preventing stones. the amount of alkali present is the important factor, nothte pH of the water. Thus checking for bicarbonate content is more relevant when choosing mineral water.'

I hope this is helpful in answering your question. Most mineral waters have the bicarbonate content printed on the lable - it is also helpful to check the sodium content as some can be high in salt which can increase the chance of stone formation.
