HI THE RELIGIOUS SIDE FO LIFE IS DIFFFICULT FO RME TO ACCEPT BTU I DO ACCEP TPEOPLE SAYING PRAYERS FOR EM AROUDN HTE WORLD - I AM SURE IT HELPED ME DEAL WIHT MY BREAST CANCER!
LOL jiLL
I am not sure about belief because some of the things read in the Bible are way beyond any belief system.
But faith Yes! Faith I believe in all respects, we must have faith in all we do and in people who do to us.
Not sure mind you, that my faith is often so strong.
I have so many thoughts it is early morning in Wisconsin and having just took meds the mind is sharp for awhile. If it was not for GOD and his word(the bible) I would have no faith or hope, find nothing wrong with bible verses being a comfort, it is to me also. I do not blame God for my Parkinson I know this horrid disease was given me to help people. I ve had DBS surgery 1 yr ago April 10th, and severe Lymes disease. AS I VE WADED THROUGH ALL OF THIS ILLNESS I have been helping others by learning to live myself. Usually when someone one has a problem with religion it is because it hits to close to home. If people spent more time to study Gods word instead so much engery disproving it, I believe life as a whole could be much better. Thanks Bill for being brave. Have the best day you can have today! I understand that people need need their faith in God to find comfort and strength, and there are man y beautiful sentiments expressed in the bible. Unfortunately for many it gets harder herder to believe in A God that would let the things that are happening in this world happened. I guess face is a wonderful thing, I don't blame him for my disease or any others. But there is certainly a lot of pain and violence the all the pretty words in the bible don't help. I guess what strenght andcomfort I find , I find in the people around me. Things that are more in the here and now.
I know this post is old but it's a really good question. If God is a God of love, if God is all knowing why did he create us knowing the suffering involved. Upon much reflection I believe I have the answer.
Thank you Bill! We should be able to post anything asking as not endorsing a product we are benefiting from! Or medical info that should come only from your doctor! Leave it up to each individual what they want to read and decide for ourselves what we want to read or not! We are adults and choose for ourselves!! Don't read it kid you don't want to! My opinion only!
Bless you Bill. I agree with RacingChaplain. My faith in the love of God has helped me to cope with this disease better than any medication could. Psalm 34 is a good also.
Personally I liked it. I don't see the problem with posting some comforting words whether they come from the Bible or wherever. If you don't like them no one is making you read them.
Thanks for posting. A friend of mine just gave me a book "Jesus calling". Enjoying Peace In His Presence, devotions for every day of the year....Sarah Young.
I really enjoy beginning my day with a short Scripture reading.
I too read the Bible to gain strength, encouragement, and so much more. Parkinson's has changed my life forcing me to retire. Psalm 91 and many other Scriptures help. I still have
parkinson's; but one day I am going to a place where there is no pain. Jusy saying~~~~ Dennis
I can see both sides, as I was born into an Irish Catholic family but sorry to say I lost faith in my God, but I believe that it has taken us billions of years to get here so what do we know, not a lot, we are still evolving, I don't believe after 58 years on this planet, that I have the answers, but I must admit something inside of me trys to keep me honest, true and loving, maybe its the Pd meds, faith is magic, but believe in yourself, we are all here now. Love your self and then you will respect everyone, remember you are unique and so is everyone else.
Thank you so much for your post, i am 53 and have had PD almost half of my life ( age27 till now) I just went through my second brain surgery. I am learning that it is ultimately God who makes the rules, when it comes to life or death or pain! He and only he should be feared and trusted. Thanks again!!!!!
