MIRAPEXINE. Doctor over here in Cyprus has reduced the dose quite significantly.

My husband was taking 3.5mg of this drug. on a daily basis. A few weeks ago the consultant here reduced his medication to 0.7 three times a day, a lower dosage. He seems to manage much better now, before he was sleeping at the drop of a hat, not any more. Anyone else gone through this?

I'm taking Mirapex. Is it the same thing as Mirapexine?

Pramipexole or over here in Cyprus, they call it Medopexol, I'm not sure if they are the same as Mirapex.

Mirapex = Mirapexin = Sifrol - Pramipexole

Yes it works, but, the lower dose has made day to day activity much better for my husband. the consultant over here in Cyprus was surprised at how high his dosage was and thought he should try a lower one, certainly seems to have worked for him.

I also take the generic for Mirapex. It makes me sleepy,but it's not too bad. When I took Mirapex ER I couldn't stay awake at all. Lowering the dose helped me too.

They had to raise it for me because I was having tremors. I take 0.75 mg 3 times a day and I take sinimet and comtan. I have pd since 12/10

I am now on the extended release version of Mirapex on a high dosage. Only one more increase and I will be on the maximum.

If I lower the dose too much I get RLS which prevents sleep. In addition to being knackered through lack of sleep lower doses of Mirapex leaves me feeling awful. Don't ask me in what way because I don't know. Just can't explain.

I was diagnosed 2010 - due to increased trembling, Mirapex was added to my PD meds - it was just too strong for my body, so the neurologist exchanged the Mirapex for Sinimet, and it is working great... the trembling has decreased significantly and I find that I actually sleep better ..

I'm glad you got it sorted. My hubby has been great since they reduced his dosage, long may it last.
