Anyone else have problems with Stalevo? Too many side effects for me & did not provide relief from rigidity. Generic Sinimid worked better.

I got very depressed using Comtan which is the difference between generic carbidopa/levadop and Stelevo. I had no added benefit so I went back to the generic and had no more depression.

Thanks for your response. I too had bouts of depression which has been improved by deleting the Stalevo.

I have been on Stalevo since 2004. It has helped me tremendously. I am fortunate , that it has not caused more depression.

Hallo. I¨ve taken Stalevo sinse April 2010. I been almost free from symtom. I am taken Sifrol too.

I have been on Stalevo for about 2.5 years. At first I took 3 per day but am now on 5 per day. I find that it takes about an hour to kick in, then fades after another hour. I have not noticed any particular side effects although my toes tend to curl when the pills are beginning to take effect. Does anyone take more than 5 a day? I am reluctant to take more due to potential side effects.

Hi, Hockeyfan,

I started on Stalevo last year and it worsened everything I had. My tremor never stopped, I had constant Diahorea, I started to have bouts of 'instant sleep', I dreamt more, ending up punching my partner whilst dreaming, on several occassions. I got depressed, but that may have beeen through the decline in my quality of life having started on Stalevo. Im ok now and have returned to my old medication for an almost instant return to 'normality!

I could only sleep about two hours per night while using stalevo. I have since had the DBS surgery and have never felt better
