This might sound unkind, I honestly dont mean it to. I apologise if I offend.

but such as Michael J Fox, though I feel sad for him with PD, will be making a lot of money out of his complaint. and can afford the best treatment.

Many of us on the other hand have to make do with a five minute bi annual consultation with a neurologist who's only task in life is to get shut of you as quick as he can especially if one tries to ask questions.

I think if we put our minds to it we could all write a book about PD However it is not what you know but whom you know.

Yes I know I sound a real old miserable git, but I just see life as it is.

We can be encouraged by the fact that MJF is also raising a lot of research funds so maybe, hopefully, we'll benefit eventually. Sounds like you are having a bad day. Hope you feel better.

i think he made his money before he got PD. I think he's a shining example, but you DESERVE WAY MORE THAN YOU'RE GETTING. You need another neurologist team that's for sure. Hope you find one.

Buying a lot of books that may just have repetitive info can get expensive.

My library, The Free Library of Philadelphia has a national exchange program for borrowing books from many libraries. (free) I do a search on their site for any I want...can usually find something. If a book is helpful, you'll know what to buy.

Check with your local library website.

I have found this book very helpful: Parkinson's Disease.A Complete Guide for Parents and Families by Weiner, Shulman and Lang. I got it on Amazon. It is a Johns Hopkins Press Health Book. It has a lot of technical/medical information written in a way that a layman can understand.

A couple I have liked:

"Wobbling Home" a Spiritual journey by Jim Atwell

"Parkinson's Dreams about Me" by Rick Hermann

Both writers are people who have experienced parkinson's for some time. I found them helpful.
