i have trouble with my nose running espec... - Cure Parkinson's
i have trouble with my nose running especially when i am eating its a real pain anybody got any suggestions
Me too and not sure why. I noticed it since we are visiting the UK fotr the last 18 month but have just had 2 months in Spain and the nose was fine. Better go back.
Lots of tissue! .....I have the same problem...what can I say !?! :o)
I've the same problem-let me know if you find out!
I too have the same problem. I'll let you know if it's connected to PD after my neuro app't on the 30th.
Me too. It may be related to the general saliva problem - swallowing not being automatic etc.
I notice it first thing in the morning - sometimes takes a dozen tissues before it stops.
Could be allergies. I don't have PD and have the same issue. Don't be so quick to blame everything on PD. We blamed hubby's weakness on exertion on PD and it turned out to be Pulmonary emboli from a DVT.
Same here. I think it has to do with getting old. Was in nursing home after surgery; tissue boxes were distributed throughout the dining room.
It happens when I take vitamins, too.
Benadryl doesn't help.
I am glad I am not the only one with a dripping tap and me shoving wads of cotton wool up my nose when I go out in case I leave a trail.
I think it is just part of the condition another thing we have to put up with.
A lot of people have this issue! Not just people with PD! It happens when you you swallow food and it isn't swallowed correctly. Some of the food gets into your lungs (called, aspirating). This will cause your nose to run! And of course people with PD would or could have this problem! Tell your doctor about it! There may be nothing he can do about it, but he or she could possibly give you some hints about what to do to help! Hope this helps.

i googled rhinorhea and Parkinsons. Interesting reading came up including one study that found it 5xs more common in people with PD and it often predates diagnosis. The doctor who did the study used medication to treat it but doesnt mention what he prescribed.
