Hi Sandra, and welcome to the site. I don't think you have to worry about DBS for a while. I understand about the acceptance part it took me 2 years or just staying in my bed and getting more and more depressed. Also eating more and more comfort foods like candy, ice cream, cookies and any thing else sweet I could get my hand on, so of course I gained weight 40 pounds. Now there's something to be depressed about. I don't know what it was that finally made me look for a doctor and get my med adjusted. So, I have now had it for about 10 years, but been diagnosed for 4 years. I can't write most of the time. My hand shake almost constantly, my head bobbles I get horrible cramps in the Achilles heels and my sleep is off and on, I never know if I will sleep 2hr, or 4hr, I never know. I do that for a few nights and then I crash. Can you still write? Do you get leg or arm cramps? Have you had to stop doing anything that you've always done. Are you on meds if so what?

Do you have family? Close? How old are you? The people here at this site are wonderful, I only found it a little over a week ago and I've learned a lot and I've just listen to the words of a fellow PD'er or a caregiver.

Hope you will continue to be a regular so that we can get to know each other.

thanks for replying. Yes my hands and legs shake but not all the time. I eat like a cow and try to control it. My lips quiver a lot with leg cramps and sleeping is a problem. Yes I am able to write. My Doctor has me on Mirapex 1mg and celexa.

I hate that bathing and swimming or not to be down like normal people. Scared of driving now and won't swim in a pool at all.I married with one married daughter who has 32 little ones . My husband is very helpful and my sisters call weekly. My Dr. is ok. This site helps me relate and function daily. thanks for your help.

Sandra, did I read that right your daughter has 32 little ones? You have a helpful husband that's great, I'm 68 and alone, I have been for 15 years since my wonderful Ron died, coming up on the anniversary of his death and his birthday. September is a really sad month for me, the 4th is my son Ricky's birthday, he died in a car accident when he was 3, the 13th is the anniversary of my Ron's death and the 22nd is Ron's birthday.

I have 3 other sons and 2 of them are very good to me the 3rd one is an alcoholic and he's my youngest, he's still trying to find his place in this world. I have 9 grandchildren who are all wonderful, in fact my 22 year old grandson Jordan took care off me in May when I had back surgery.

Life is just plain hard, for some more than others. I try to keep a positive attitude and keep my self busy, don't get me wrong it's not all roses and lollipops. I have suffered with depression since I was a young teenager, I have been on anti depressants since 1992, they saved my life. My hands shake, I can't write, I have trouble sleeping, I get leg cramps and my Achilles heels hurt like mad.

I am just in a good place right now and hope I can stay there for a while.

no my daughter has 2 children she will shot me for that one.HAHA!

Sorry to hear about your husband and son.

maybe your achilles heel is a spur. Had my Dr. give me shots in my heel and it worked. no more pain.

Best of health. SG

I do not believe that it's ever too early to worry about DBS! Talk to your doctor! Now!!!! Don't suffer any longer than you need to! Talk to him/her now!! Never too early! You have questions, you ask! Write them down to take with you on your doctor visits! Question everything with your doctor, everything!!!! And research! Just my opinion!
